Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society

Sands Point Preserve
95 Middle Neck Road. This early 1900s grand Gold Coast estate on L.I. Sound boasts two castles, six hiking trails, changing natural history exhibits and Wedgwood collection. Open year round, 10am-5pm. On site is Falaise, the former home of Harry Guggenheim, noted for its Medieval and Renaissance period architecture, art and furnishings and Castlegould. Sands Willets House
336 Port Washington Blvd. Built in 1735, occupied by Col. John Sands, head of the Great Neck-Cow Neck Militia during the Revolutionary War, and by Edmond Willets and his descendants until 1967. Open Sun, 2-4pm, and by appointment. (516-365-9074)

Polish American Museum
16 Belleview Ave. Fifteen exhibit rooms contain documents, artifacts, paintings, displays and exhibits illustrating the important achievements of people of Polish heritage. The gift shop offers imported crafts made in Poland. (516- 883-6542)
